Commercial property refers to land or earth that is owned by a business or company.

When the two words are put together, a new word comes about that literally means a piece or portion of land, earth or terrain that belongs to one specific person, persons, or business. Since the English language has evolved, however, there is a specific tone to the phrase ground property that suggests it sometimes refers to a portion of land with nothing on it but what naturally grows there.
